Responding to complaints from local residents on Yates… I’ve spoken to Avon Valley and they will reiterate the message to parents who park on Yates to use the car parks further out and to be more considered in the collection of their children with regards to the impact on local residents. The headteacher will ensure this message is in the newsletters, letters to parents, and on their web pages and social media.
In addition: Sarah Feeney has spoken to the modelers/planners today at WCC as part of her duties as a county councillor:
They replied: “As a follow up to the point you raised concerning access to Avon Valley School and associated parking issues, I understand that colleagues will shortly be starting monitoring of school travel to/from this location as part of our SAfER Schools Programme, and will then be looking to develop further active travel measures based on the trends identified.”
Jim has also emailed both county council and RBC execs to consider the car park exit and has requested a wide angled mirror opposite the gate to facilitate a safe exit… this is under consideration by lead officers.  So as part of awareness, one of many balls is now rolling and the issue has been acknowledged. What will occur is a data set which will then affect the remodeling of and how local people use the local area if the data is Bourne out (which we know it should be)… https://www.warwickshire.gov.uk/…/safer-schools…/1
