Jeremy Corbyn and I had a private visit to GE on Saturday, to discuss their proposals to cease manufacturing in #Rugby.

There’s no doubt that it’s a short-sighted decision, made with little regard for its strategic, national and international consequences because the company needs to get out of a financial hole

We need the Government, the Ministry of Defence and our MP to get on the case, to start to use their leverage to ensure that we don’t lose this sovereign defence supply line.

Because once it’s gone, it’s gone for good.

Meanwhile, 197 skilled jobs are at risk. The insecurity and stress for the workers are immense. Unite the union are working hard, alongside local management, to make the case for keeping the factory open.

I’m pleased to be able to highlight the issues and bring some influence to bear.

As Labour’s Parliamentary Candidate, I continue to use my voice to speak up for Rugby people and Rugby jobs.
