Local Benn Ward Councillors Maggie O’rourke, Tom Mahoney, James Shera and Community Champion Richard Harrington and County Councillor Sarah Feeney continue to work with the local community on the Millennium Park project.
Residents have worked with them to gather evidence from parents and children on what sort of equipment they would like to see in the park. Over the last few months litter picks in the park have taken place which was very successful and local Councillors managed to get child size pickers free of charge from RBC.
The police ran the activity and those children who participated were rewarded with food and games. RBC is proceeding with cutting back trees in the park as requested by the police and the council have put signs up in different languages to remind people that drinking alcohol in the park isn’t allowed.
