On Friday 26 October, Diane Abbott is coming to Rugby to present the inaugural Don Williams Memorial Address.

I’m sure you know that Don Williams was one of our most celebrated local politicians. A member of Rugby’s West Indian Community, Don was elected a borough councillor in 2001, serving a term as mayor in 2010.

Sadly, Don passed away earlier this year. He is much missed by his comrades in Rugby Labour Party, and what better way could there be to celebrate his life of public service than to hold an event in his name.

We’re especially delighted that Diane Abbott has agreed to deliver the inaugural Don Williams Memorial Address and we hope that you’ll join us on 26 October to mark his life and contribution.

No celebration is complete without food and music, so we’re planning plenty of both to create the sort of celebration that Don would have loved.

It’s bound to be a sell-out event, so please don’t delay – book your tickets – It’s just £15 per person, and strictly tickets in advance. Go to the Events menu and book your ticket.

Look forward to seeing you there.
