For those struggling to get food into kids’ bellies: There are various “make lunch groups” in the Area –
makelunchrugby@gmail.com (Gail Heslop, Alison Farnell or Nicola Townsend Kennedy) at St Matts. https://www.m2o.org.uk/serving-our-community/
Christchurch has Meet and Eat: just mail Liz Hopkin for dates https://www.facebook.com/groups/1411546675766112
Newbold Chapel have a scheme/food shop (from CCllr Barbara Brown concept with RBC support) : email Lucy or call 07764 758474. Members pay £3 per week for which they can access 10+ items of food along with a drink and chat: https://www.rugbymethodist.org.uk/newboldchapelcafe.htm
There is also a community group called Fill The Gap run by a group of nurses on a shoestring: https://www.facebook.com/Rugbyfilllthegap
I also believe there are programs at The Benn Centre https://www.bennpartnership.org.uk/ and Hillstreet
If you use the community group – be aware they need your help to keep them running – they are community-based and as a result run for the benefit of the local community with minimal funding and resources.
