Rugby Labour Party Renew Rugby Together
Rugby Labour Women’s Group: Our activity
March 2023 – on International Women’s Day, we announced plans for a local award scheme. Later in the month, members of the network spoke at a Labour Party event that celebrated strong women from the Labour movement. The main speaker was Jess Phillips, MP for Birmingham & Yardley, and Shadow Minister for Domestic Violence and Safeguarding. Four members of our network also spoke and we held a minute’s silence for the recently departed and widely esteemed Baroness Betty Boothroyd.
February 2023 – we took part in the Hope 4, ‘Sleep out to help out’ event in the Town Hall car park, raising over £2,500 (almost £3,000 with gift aid).
December 2022 – we hosted representatives from Hope4 and the Benn Partnership Centre at a social gathering to hear from them about their work and consider how we could help.
November 2022 – we collected donations for food parcels and other goods for local distribution via the Rugby Food Bank.
